Meet Dr. Wang     PhD, DDS, MSc (Ortho), FRCD (C)

meet dr wang

I have been practicing orthodontics for more than 18 years and continue to be passionate about my chosen profession. I am enormously blessed to be in a position where I can have such a positive impact on the lives of others and help them get the smile they have always wanted. I recognize and respect that all patients come with unique concerns, and am committed to customizing treatment to address their individual needs.

Education

I attended the University of Toronto on scholarship and completed my Bachelor of Science (with honours) and Master of Science in pharmacology. I then completed my Ph.D., also in pharmacology, while at the same time pursuing my four-year Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Toronto.

Following my dental education, I did an intensive one-year internship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, where I gained extensive experience with trauma, medically-compromised cases, cleft lip and palate cases, and craniofacial anomalies. I also travelled to Northwestern Ontario on several occasions to provide dental services to First Nation Communities.

Interested in orthodontics, I committed another three years specializing in the field of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the University of Manitoba, and earned another master’s degree. My clinical research completed during this time was awarded a grant and presented at the American Association of Orthodontists Annual Meeting.

Upon returning to Toronto, I practiced for 12 years in the specialty of orthodontics. In 2008, I relocated to British Columbia and purchased this Abbotsford practice from an established orthodontist, to which I now devote my full attention.

Continuing education

Orthodontic technology and techniques are ever-changing. My staff and I therefore participate in annual continuing education programs to further our knowledge and education, while staying current with the latest information and developments, in order to provide the best care for our patients. I also provide continuing education throughout the year to dentists, to update them on the latest developments in the field of orthodontics.

Professional affiliations

I am an active member of several local, provincial, and national dental & orthodontic associations:

In the community

I feel very fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful community, and believe strongly in giving back. Each year, I contribute to local charities and non-profit organizations, and sponsor various school events and sports teams.
